Twelve sports leaders from Southfields, Burntwood and Graveney schools did a fantastic job in helping to organise the Panathlon Challenge at Southfields on 1st February.
The Sports Leaders, who included Aykut, Shannon, Sky, Karlisha and Tianna from Southfields, Georgia & Noah from Graveney and Claire, Javena and Kwame from Burntwood, all attended the Panathlon Sports Leaders course in December and put their new found skills into practice at the event from young disabled students.
Nick Miller from Southfields said,'The Sports Leaders all did a fantastic job, they played a major role in the Panathlon being a really enjoyble and successful experience for all the children involved'.
Georgia, one of the leaders, said "I officiated the Polybat competition at the Panathlon today. It was a really great experience. I was confident to demonstrate my knowledge of the sports I had learnt from the Panathlon training day, and was eager to see the games played in a competitive environment. It was wonderful to watch them having such a great time, and to be a part of their day was intrinsically rewarding in a way you could only understand if you were to experience it yourself.”
