Holy Ghost Primary School pulled off a remarkable victory in the Wandsworth School Games Quicksticks Hockey Championship at Southfields Academy. Having already defeated Honeywell, the reigning Champions in the semi Final, Holy Ghost went on to beat Our Lady Queen of Heaven in a close final 2-1.
Twenty-two teams in total participated in what is becoming a really popular competition in the borough. Nick Miller SGO for Wandsworth said; "Two years ago of six teams played in the Quicksticks, now we have enough teams to run an A & B competition. It is fantastic to see so many children playing hockey."
Congratulations must also go to High View who were the winners of the B Team competition beating Honeywell 1-0 in the final.
Good luck to Holy Ghost who now go on to represent Wandsworth at the London School Games final at Crystal Palace in April.
