We Don't Like Cricket, We Love It in 2017

Cricket in Wandsworth hit new heights in 2017, with the estabishment of a new secondary schools league with Last Mans Stands.  8 schools entered the U13s league and 5 in U15s competition.

In the primary cricket programme, fantastic support from Spencer Cricket Club, made the Wandsworth Kwik Cricket Festivals the most memorable in recent years. A total of 56 teams played in the 3 competeitions held at Spencer Cricket Club, with fantastic support from Spencer CC & sports leaders from Ernest Bevin College umpiring matches.

A record 19 schools competed in the Y6 best competition, with Newton Prep beating Furzedown by a single run in a tense final.

The girls competition was competed by 21 schools and 190 girls, which was the most ever.  It ended with Thomas's Clapham beating Belleville in the final.

15 schools played in the Year 5 competition, which was a huge success. Belleville ended up wiinning a hard fought final against Honeywell.

In addition to the primary event, we held a secondary girls cricket competition at Spencer with 8 teams taking part in the Year 7/8 Cricket festival with 70 girls playing great cricket.
