Sir James Barrie hosted a football competition comprising of four primary schools, these were Chesterton, Shaftsbury Park, St Faith’s and the hosts themselves. The teams played a mini league format, playing each team once to determine the overall winner. After the first round of matches, Chesterton and current cup holders Sir James Barrie had gathered a win each, which set up for an intriguing match in the second round between the two. With little time left on the clock, and the teams deadlocked on one a piece, Chesterton scored a dramatic well struck goal to seal a 2-1 win and collect a crucial three points. The final round saw Chesterton remain undefeated and win the cup, with Sir James Barrie finishing as runners-up and Shaftsbury Park and St Faiths tied for third place.
Thank you to Sir James Barrie for hosting the competition, thank you to the schools who attended and competed and a big thank you to Mr Andy Lane and the five Salesian College sports leader students who assisted with referring the matches.
