Wandsworth Champions League Boccia - Round 1

The new Champion's League Boccia competition organised by the Wandsworth School Sports Partnership on behalf of Boccia England has begun with great success! Sixteen teams from all around the southern regions of Greater London competed in the group stages at the Wandle Leisure Centre on Friday 5th November.

Most of the Wandsworth Special Schools were represented, putting in strong performances particularly Greenmead’s teams who are topping group A and B with Linden Lodge second on the group A table. Stand out play in group C and D matches came from Sunnydown, Paddock, Clifton Hill and Priory schools who will take a lot of confidence into round 2 of the group stages on December 8th.

The strongest teams after 3 rounds will go to the finals day and fight for the limited places available at the UK regional competition later in the year. With the Paralympics just around the corner this competition is a great showcase of South London’s Boccia talent of the future!

Tim Richmond, School Sports Co-ordinator.
