Wandsworth WOW at Central London Finals with Holy Ghost in the High 5 competition and Graveney in the Y7/8 Girls competition.
Both schools had progressed from Wandsworth finals earlier in the month and were proud to be representing the borough at the Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Sport Centre on 24th March.
The sunshine heightened the atmosphered as teams were buzzing before the competition got underway. The High 5 Primary comp took place in the morning, and Holy Ghost knew they had to take every opportunity as so many schools were competing. They started well with a frantic end to end game resulting in their first win. A tie in the second, and another win showed them in good form. They finished second in their group and progressed to the semis. Unfortunately they didn't make it to the finals and finished in 4th place overall. Congratulations to the team.
The sun continued to shine as Graveney arrived for the Secondary Y7/8 Girls comp. They had clearly been training extra hard since the Wandsworth Finals and the team looked well drilled and confident. Their drive and determination showed on court with an impressive run of wins through to the semis. They remained unbeaten all afternoon and were crowned Central London Netball Champions 2011. Congratulations to Graveney.
