Young Ambassadors

Wandsworth SSP's Gold Ambassador is Angel Peart.  Angel is a sixth form student at Graveney School and has considerable experience in sports leadership and volunteering.  After attending the Young Ambassador conference this year Angel understands her role and the role of all Young Ambassadors in the lead up to, and beyond London 2012.  Alongside the Partnership Angel hopes to extend the Young Ambassador programme in Wandsworth to select two Silver Ambassadors from each secondary school, with the vision of building and sustaining sport for young people in the borough.  Angel won Young Volunteer of the Year at the Active Wandsworth Awards this year for her exceptional work volunteering in school and in the community.

Each year until 2012, School Sport Partnerships across England will recruit two young people to take on the role of Young Ambassador for two years. In their first year, they work in their local communities championing sport and the ethos and values of the Olympic and Paralympic movement. In the second year they take on a mentoring role with the new Young Ambassador intake.
