London Youth Games at Crystal Palace

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the London School Games finals over the past two weeks. The events have been an outstanding success with nearly 4,000 young people from 33 London borough taking part in the two days of competition at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.

At the finals there were some excellent performances by Wandsworth Schools. The girls from Putney High picked bronze medals in the badminton competition for Key Stage 4, which was a great achievement. The KS4 boys from Graveney came 4th in an extremely high standard badminton competition. There was also heartbreak for the St Cecilia's athletics team who missed out on the bronze medal in the Year 8 boys athletics by 2 points. However, being the 4th best team in London is a fantastic acheivement.

Honeywell Juniors and Sacred Heart Primary, Battersea both finished in 5th place in the Tag Rugby & Sportshall athletics competitions respectively. This is an amazing performance considering they were all playing against schools from all 33 London boroughs.

Other notable performances at Crystal Palace were from Fircroft in the boys football, The Roche school in Hi 5 Netball, Granard in the Water Polo and Honeywell in the Quicksticks Hockey & girls football. The full results can be seen below in the resources section.
