Belleville triumph at Gymnastics Extravaganza

Belleville Year 3/4 & Year 5/6 Gymnastics squads were victorious in the 2012 Key Steps Gymnastics this week. However, this only told part of the story of a fantastic School Games event at Southfields Community College.

Over 130 children showed off their Gymnastic skills in the biggest ever Key Steps Gymnastics event. 15 teams competed in the Year 3&4 event, while 9 Year 5/6 teams vied for the title of Wandsworth Champions.

The competitors were treated to a fantastic opening ceremony with great performances by the Southfields Community College dance group and an excellent song from Liam in Year 8.

Sports Leaders from Burntwood School and Southfields volunteered at the event and were vital in its smooth running.

However, following 3 hours of intensive performance the final results were as follows:

Year 3/4 - 1st Belleville, 2nd Belleville, 3rd Fircroft

Year 5/6 - 1st Belleville, 2nd Penwortham, 3rd Granard
