Wandsworth School Games Roadshow

Building on the successful London 2012 and the many inspirational performances by our athletes, Southfields Academy held the Wandsworth School Games Roadshow on Monday 1st October 2012. The roadshow provided an update of the School Games programme and how schools can become involved in School Games in 2012-13.

The aim of School Games is provide competitive school sport that is exciting, inclusive, and offers a wide variety of sports for young people to participate. In addition to this, School Games also offers other opportunities for pupils to get involved through cultural activities, organisation, officiating or volunteering.

At the Roadshow it was highlighted that the key objectives for the coming year were:

Increase number of Level 2 Competitions in Wandsworth

Engage more young disabled people in these events

Provide more opportunities for Young Sports leaders to become involved

Develop the cultural aspect of the School Games
