Start to Move KS 1 Course

27 Wandsworth Primary teachers attended the first ever, Start to Move Course at Hotham Primary School on Friday 23rd November

Start to Move is an exciting national programme which aims to transform outcomes for children through an innovative approach to Physical Education at Key Stage 1.  Start to Move is a new programme which will help primary schools teach the fundamental movement skills required for 4 – 7 year olds. 

The programme, an exciting partnership between Youth Sport Trust and Bupa, aims to provide children with a foundation for lifelong participation in physical activity, enabling them to be physically literate, confident and healthy movers.

Alan Watkinson, the course tutor for the day said that, "The course in Wandsworth had been a great day, and it had been a pleasure to work with so many committed teachers".

Alan went on to say that, "Sport Changes Lives" and as the PE Teacher who discovered Mo Farrah's athletic abilities, he knows a thing or two about developing fundamental movement for young people.
