Putney High & Graveney retain Badders titles

The badminton teams from Putney High and Graveney again proved too strong for the rest of the budding badminton teams in Wandsworth. For the third year in a row both schools competed the double by winning both KS3 & KS4 competitions in their respective events.

Graveney won both boys titles beating off the strong challenge from Chestnut Grove, who finished runners up in each age group. Southfields came third in the KS4 event with Ashcroft doing the same in KS3.

There was a bumber turn out for the girls event with 11 teams and almost 50 girls competing in the events. However, at the end of a hard fought evening of badminton, the Putney High girls remained unbeaten and won the both titles. Congratulations must also go to the girls from Burntwood, Graveney & Southfields for their excellent performances.

Good luck to Graveney Boys and Putney High Girls in the next round of th London School Games at the Westcroft Centre.
