USA win Boccia Golf Ryder Cup 2014

Forty-four young SEND students from Central London Schools took part in a fantastic Boccia Golf Ryder Cup competition today in Battersea Park. In the event organised as part of the Projectability programme, Europe were represented by children from 5 Wandsworth Schools including Linden Lodge, Paddock, Oak Lodge and Penwortham. While, schools from 3 other Central London boroughs joined forces to become Team USA. They were Lark Hall from Lambeth, College Park from Westminster & Richard Cloudesley from Islington.

11 sets of 4 balls set off to play the 11 specially designed Boccia Golf holes in true match play style. All morning the players showed off their fantastic skills and some thrilling matches took place.

Despite a galliant effort by the European team, they were unable to prevent the USA winning the Ryder Cup trophy on foreign soil. However, a great day was had by all.

In the end the final score was USA 8 v Europe 3

Let's hope that the European team fair better in the Ryder Cup Golf competition at the weekend!
