Wandsworth School Games Level 2 Update

The half term has seen plenty great sporting action with a number of schools qualifying to represent Wandsworth in the London School Games 2016.

Congratulations to Bolingbroke and Southfields Academy who have won through to the second round of the handball competitions and are now one step away from the London Finals. Bolingbroke Girls Rugby Team also put on a great show to win the Wandsworth Girls Rugby cup and will now go on to represent the borough at The London Rugby finals

Harris Academy Battersea completed an unprecedented clean sweep of the Wandsworth Basketball competitions and ther U16 Girls team has progressed to last 8  and remain in pursuit of a place in the final.

This year's sportshall athletics saw 5 different schools win through to represent Wandsworth in the School Games. The winning teams were: Year 5/6 - Sacred Heart Battersea; Year 7 Boys - St Cecilia's; Year 7 Girls- Putney High; Year 8 Boys - Ernest Bevin College and Year 8 Girls - Burntwood. We would like to wish them success in the South London Qualifiers on 24th February.

Burntwood and Southfields performed admirably at the School Games Dance Finals coming 20th & 17th respectively. Garratt Park came 13th in the Para Tennis at the Westay, while Linden Lodge Boccia team have have won through to the Mini Boccia final at Crystal Palace.

Congatulations to Graveney KS 4 boys badminton team who won through to play in London School Games final with a great performance in the qualifying round in Harrow on 5th February.

Sacred Heart Battersea and St Cecilia's are the latest schools to qualify for London School Games Final have won the primary and Year 7 netball competitions respectively. They will now join Brandlehow - Tag Rugby, Honeywell- Girls Football and Penwotham- Boys Football in the London Finals
