New Inclusive Sport -Sitting Volleyball & NAK

We are excited to report that the Wandsworth School Games introduced two new events for young people with special educational needs into the sporting calendar for 2019.

On 24th January, Paddock Primary school played host to the first ever Wandsworth New Age Kurling event. 24 Students from Paddock and Linden Lodge took part in this exciting event to see who will progress to the London School Games final. After a great morning of Kurling, the teachers all agreed that the children had improved their skills massively and enjoyed the event.

This was followed by a Sitting Volleyball Festival at Southfields Academy on 12th February. 4 schools and 34 children particpated in the event organised with support of sports leaders from Southfields Academy.

Having taken part in some fun activities to get ready for the games. The children then played matches with Swaffield ending up winning the most matches. A great time was had by all and we received a lovely message from one of the parents about the event:

"My daughter Kitty attended the sitting volleyball yesterday. She had a fantastic time and came home buzzing with excitement. A big thank all involved."
