Southfields Academy is excited to be one of The FA Girls’ Football School Partnerships - supported by Barclays programme This is an exciting nationwide scheme that aims to mainstream football in schools for girls.
Southfields Academy along with the Football Association & the Youth Sport Trust vision is to ensure that;
'Every girl has equal access to football in school by 2024'.

to programme take advantage of the great resources available to schools.
Please see below the objectives:
•Positioning football as a viable curriculum sport across partnership schools
• Implementing an FA lunchtime and extra-curricular offer through FA Shooting Stars Programme inspired by Disney https://www.girlsfootballinschools.org/participation-shootingstars.php
• Delivering a girls’ festival and competition programme with Wandsworth School Games
• Signposting girls across the partnership to play football in the local community.
The initiative will create a network of 300 school partnerships by 2024, each with a dedicated education expert with knowledge and understanding of education and girls’ football in their local area.
The Barclays investment will give girls the best chance to experience football in the PE curriculum, as well as the opportunity to participate, lead and compete – giving them the equal access to our much-loved national game as most boys currently enjoy.
