Secondary Basketball with LBA

November & December have been a busy one for the basketball players in Wandsworth Secondary Schools, with 6 competition and 3 finals taking place during this period.

This year's finals were supported by the London Basketball Asscociation and sponsored by Air Jordan. Each player competing in the the finals were given a Nike Jordan warm up top and T-shirt.

The U14 Girls Final was contested by teams from Ark Putney Academy and Burntwood School really demonstrated a definite increase in participation and performance levels in basketball. Ark Putney came out on top with a confiortable win. However, their boys, just missed out on a victory, when the were beaten by an excellent Harris Academy Battersea team in the final.

In the U16 Boys final, Graveney won an excellent final beating Southfields by 2pts in a thrilling match. The final was a tighter affair with Southfields storming into a lead in the first quarter. However, as the game progressed the Graveney team's skills and consistancy began to show and they racked up the points to run out Wandsworth champions for the first time.

Congratulations to all the teams involved in the competition and good luck to the winning teams in the next round of the London School Games
