Wandsworth Power to London Sportshall Finals
Thursday 8th March proved to be a successful for day for the Wandsworth Schools competiting in the Central London Sportshall Athletics at Brixton Rec.
Having won the Wandsworth Championships, teams from Wandsworth schools went on to dominate the event involving School from other Central London boroughs. In what turned out to be a private battle between schools from Wandsworth and Lambeth, teams from Ernest Bevin College and St Cecilia's won the Year 7 & Year 8 Boys competitions respectively. Both the Year 7 & Year 8 teams from Putney High School came in second behind Lambeth schools.
In the Primary School event, Sacred Heart had a huge battle with Granton school in Lambeth, with the later narrowly coming out on top.
However, with the top two teams in each age group going through to finals, all Wandsworth teams have qualified and still have the chance of striking gold at the London Youth Games
