Project Ability Football

Southfields Academy teamed up with Chelsea FC and the Panathlon Challenge to provide an inclusive football festival for young people with hearing and visual impairments as part of the Project Ability programme. A total of 60 young people from schools including Linden Lodge, Oak Lodge, Southfields Hearing Impaired Unit, Graveney, St Cecilla's and Riversdale from Wandsworth.

They were joined by young people with Hearing Impairement from Tower Hamlets and Camden to create an exciting day of footballing activities.  At the event, the young people took part in football coaching sessions delivered by Chelsea FC coaches and sports leaders from Southfields, Oak Lodge & Garratt Park and then went on to play some football matches.

The football competition was part of the Project Ability Innovation Project in Central London which aims to provide competitive sporting opportunities to younpe people with a sensory impairment. Please see the case study below for further information about the project:
