Europe win Ryder Cup - Boccia Golf that is!
On Thursday 29th Sept 2016, Sixty-four young students with SEND from Central London Schools took part in a fantastic Boccia Golf Ryder Cup competition in Battersea Park. In the event organised as part of YST Inclusion programme, Europe were represented by children from 4 Wandsworth Schools including Linden Lodge, Paddock, Oak Lodge and Burntwood. While, students from Ashcroft Academy, Lark Hall from Lambeth and QE11 from Westminster made up the USA team
15 group of players proceeded to play the 18 holes especially designed by sports leaders from Southfields Academy & Garratt Park School.
Despite a heavy downpour the players showed off their fantastic skills and some thrilling matches took place.
By the end of the morning the European Team had defeated the the USA winning teh Ryder Cup by 9 points to 6. However, a great day was had by all.
It was a shame that European team could replicate their success at the Rydeer Cup 2016 in Hastledine, USA!
